| | Gilbert Arenas on NBA Live 08 Cover | | It's now official: Gilbert Arenas has been selected by EA Sports to be on the cover of the upcoming NBA Live 08. I think what convinced them to choose Arenas for next year's installment of the franchise series is the combination of the current Washington Wizard's superb performance all season long and the story of how he turned adversity around and got to where he is now.Gilbert Arenas has been out of this world prior to his injury very late into the season: pulling up for jumpers from way out, shooting over opponents, making shots at the buzzer and being confident enough to turn around and celebrate even before the ball touches the net. He's a gifted athlete, there's no doubt about it, but what's more astounding is the work ethics he's so much praised for.Let me pose this question: what happens when you close gym doors on an already physically-gifted athlete? The answer: you get someone like Arenas. He already knows he's got what it takes physically to go head-to-head with other NBA players, but still he chooses to practice early, stay late, shoot more baskets, and in sum, work more. That's the difference between him and other aspiring superstars: he's so dedicated... | |
| | LeBron Confident About Game 2 | | Cleveland Cavaliers star forward LeBron James is confident that he will play in Game 2 of their first round series against the Washington Wizards on Thursday (Manila Time). James was placed by the Cavs' management under a day-to-day observation after injuring his ankle during the third quarter of their Game 1 on Sunday. LBJ stepped into Etan Thomas' foot after taking a 10-footer and grimaced in pain for a moment, shocking the crowd at the Quicken Loans Arena, but he came back and managed to finish the match with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists in the Cavs' 97-82 home win. He even said that even if the game would be held today, he will surely play. | |
| | LeBron's Easy Road to the Eastern Finals | | If it can't get better enough for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, this year's playoffs match-ups have given them a very easy road to the Eastern Conference Finals.Their first round opponents: the Washington Wizards. Sure, the Wizards gave the Cavaliers a hard time last year with James and Gilbert Arenas trading gamebreakers late in the game, but it's a whole new story this year. Both Arenas and Caron Butler (the only All-Star players on their team this year) are out for the post-season with injuries, and needless to say, this depletes the Wizards by a lot.Their next round opponents would either be the New Jersey Nets or the Toronto Raptors, both of which are arguably*not* in championship form.So given that easy road from where they are now, do you think LeBron can make history and get to his first ever Conference Finals appearance? | |
| | | | It's going to be a very busy offseason for 2010 | | LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer, and Joe Johnson, those are just few of the names that might be appearing in the 2010 NBA free agency. Their current teams might do their very best to keep them and some hopeful teams for sure will be after them. Some of the teams that are on the heels of these stars are the New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, and Utah Jazz for sure are going to either re-sign their current stars or either go for another one to compensate the loss. A lot of rumors are going on for a possible James-Wade, James-Bosh, or Wade-Bosh team-ups which sound scary for the remaining 29 teams. Because of such names in the market, other teams are rumored to be making some serious adjustments in their rosters so to also get the most out of the deals. Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, has been quoted saying that they are interested in going after LeBron, even at the expense of giving up a lot of their firepower. Does this mean Cuban would let Dirk Nowitzki go and the Dallas will see the end of the Nowitzki era? Or is this a possible LeBron James-Dirk... | |
| | Agent Zero Gilbert Arenas is suspended due to gun incident | | Arenas of the washington wizards is one of the stars of the nba. he is an important player in his team. he was suspended indefinitely by the nba for bringing a gun in the team's locker room. his suspension can mean rough season for his team. Do you agree with the suspension? or is it too much? | |
| | What Do you Think about Guns in playing Venues? | | Gilbert Arenas, the top scorer and on-court leader of the Washington Wizards in the NBA has been suspended by the NBA commissioner for bringing guns into the locker room. His actions lately in Philadelphia, simulating guns with fingers have nailed him I guess to get the suspension. I think that such action should never be tolerated in a professional league such as the NBA. What do you say about the suspension? I hope for your answers. Thank you. | |
| | NBA Team Rankings | | 1. Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers are the returning NBA champs and have brought back their major contributers from last season. They also have the addition of Ron Artest who is going to be a defensive presence that some feel the Lakers may still lack at times. Expect another NBA Finals appearance.2. Cleveland Cavaliers
Lebron James still has the bitter taste in his mouth from losing the East Conference Finals last year and coming off an MVP season don't expect him to slow down. The addition of Shaq will pay off as you see them checking into the NBA Finals.3. San Antonio Spurs
Surprised? You shouldn't be. The Spurs still have all the major parts to be and contend for a championship. You have Tim Duncan who know how to win along with Tony Parker who is still one of the premier point guards in the NBA. This team lives and dies with their ability to stay healthy. Outside of Phil Jackson, Gregg Papovich is probably the best coach in the NBA. Expect a WCF appearance and hanging with the Lakers for 6 or 7 games. 4. Boston Celtics
While they aren't getting any younger, the big three can still win and they brought extra fire power this year. The addition of Rasheed Wallace... | |
