myLot Discussions| The Teams | | My two favorite teams are The Atlanta Falcons (Football)
And Carolina Hurricanes (Hockey) I think they are the best
| | Winning Isn't Everything | | They might have not gone to the playoffs, but they broke more records than any other team in the NFL. The running game is unbelievable. They broke records held that were held for many years. If Bobby Petrino knows how to use our offense and run our defense, they can do great things. Bobbby Petrino can't just say do your thing because then they will play selfish football. They need to play as a team. if you look at 2004, Atlanta went to the divisional playoffs. They can do that again this year. | |
| | Do you think the Miami Police gave Michael Vick special treatment? | | A security video showed Michael Vick surrendering a water bottle to a security screener on January 17. The initial report said it contained a small dark substance and odor similar to marijuana.
Authorities now says the lab shows no evidence of marijuana, Vick was cleared of all wrong doing.
He was ridicule on SNL lampoon. There were some fans talking about trading him which is a shame because in the court of public opinion he was guilty before being proven guilty. I am not sure if there was a cover up by the Miami police, but I believe that you are innocent until proven guilty. Does anyone believe he was given special treatment, and this is a cover up? Should he be traded from the Atlanta Falcons? I say he should stay with the Falcons, he is asset to the team.
| | How could you be so stupid..... | | Falcons quarterback Michael Vick could be deep in the two-a-days of
summer camp before there is any word about what was in the water bottle
confiscated from him at Miami International Airport on Wednesday.
The bottle contained a secret compartment that allegedly held "a dark
particulate," according to the police report. It said the substance
smelled like marijuana.
Vick was not arrested and caught his morning flight to Atlanta, where he
spent part of the day at the team's Flowery Branch headquarters. He was
scheduled to meet new coach Bobby Petrino for the first time, but it was
cancelled because Petrino had another appointment. Vick did speak with
some members of the coaching staff.
According to the police report, Vick drew suspicion when he refused to
part with a bottle of water at a security-screening checkpoint. Bottled
liquids of more than 3 ounces have been prohibited at most U.S. airports
for months for security reasons.
Vick eventually threw the bottle in a waste container but his initial
reluctance caused TSA official Gertrude Joseph to examine the bottle,
described as a 20-ounce Aquafina bottle. Joseph then notified her
supervisor of a hidden...
| | | Who should the Falcons choose? | | The falcons have a big decision to make after a dissapointing season where they missed the playoffs. Who should they keep Vick, Jim Mora jr, or neither? | |
| | Michale Vick | | Michael Vick has had a record setting year, but was not voted into the Pro Bowl. How do you feel about this? | |
| | Matt Schaub Oops He Did It Again | | When the Houston Texans got Matt Schaub from the Atlanta Falcons they thought the David Carr error was over and their quarterback problems were solved. Unfortunately for Schaub and the Texans, keeping their star QB on the field for all 16 games in the regular season has been impossible.Last night during the Texans, Vikings game Schab was injured running out of bounds. He stayed in the game with an apparent ankle injury. While it appears Schaub will be able to start in the season opener, Texans fans have to be thinking, not again. Will this guy ever be able to last a full season. Mabye the Texans should have tried to get Favre the almost 40 year old who could teach Schaub a think or two about staying healthy. With Rosenfel gone, if and probably when Schaub goes down, the Texans better hope Orlovsky will be ready. | |
| | Let's Get Real About Michael Vick.................. | | Beofre, I begin this discussion I will say that I disagree 100% with the involvement that Michael Vick had in the dog fighting ring. I think it is horrible to treat an animal that way.......now comes the big HOWEVER....
The attitude of some that believe he should not return to the NFL is equally horrible. Let's get real for a second.....Dog Fighting rings are not a new thing, neither is chicken fighting. In East TX 8 were arrested and 22 more were arrested in Illonois and Missouri, some 200 dogs were involved. These people, if convicted in a court of law will serve their time in jail for these crimes.
Micheal Vick has served his time!!!!! Had Michael Vick not been the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons he would not have been demonized in the media.
Also, Michael Vick was not the only person involved here, let's remember that his realtives and friends also owned a huge stake in the responsibility for the crimes, but MV served the majority, if not all of the time in jail. He had the most to loose and he was the bigger media story!! I question how involved he really was while at practice, on the field and traveling between state to state city to city....
If all were equal, the...
| | Should NFL QB Michael Vick Be Given A Second Chance? | | Michael Vick, more than a year ago, was sent to prison on a conviction of dog fighting. Evidence in the Michael Vick case showed that he was running a dog fighting operation in the backyard of one of his houses. There, they found dog cages, a dog fighting ring, among other things. Testimony from some of his friends provided information of Vick's involvement with training dogs to fight, financing the whole operation, killing dogs whom were no longer able to fight by drowning them, shocking them with electricity, and other brutal things. Consequently, he lost his endorsement, his big money contract, was released by the Atlanta Falcons, and was sent to prison. Recently, Vick signed a 2-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, after he was partially reinstated by the NFL Commissioner. With all this being said, should he get a second chance at playing football? I say yes he should. Why? It's simple, everybody deserves a second chance. It shouldn't matter who he or she is as long as he or she is sincerely sorry for what he or she did. Granted, I don't know how sincerely sorry he is, but he still deserve an opportunity to redeem himself. While I don't lie what he did, some of the... | |
