| NBA - Portland Trailblazers | | Is anyone here a fan of the NBA? If so, what do you think of the Portland TrailBlazers. They are my favorite team, and it is so great to see such a young team doing so well. And they are all classy people. About 4 or 5 years ago they were nicknamed the "Jailblazers" and now they are just a great group. I cannot wait to see what they do in the future! | |
| | Suns up 3-2 over the Blazers | | Now that the Suns won a blowout in Phoenix. Can they close it out in Portland already or will they take it to game 7. | |
|
| Are the Blazers for real this season? | | They have a winning record and has already beaten the Rockets,Suns,Spurs and Hornets..i think they will win their division this season and will advance to the second round..They have Oden back and Roy has blossomed to a star and clutch player..What do you think? | |
| | GAME 5 Cleveland Cavs | | What an exciting game!! All I have to say is Go Cavs.... I know they can win on Saturday. What do you think??? | |
|
| Is Portland going in the right direction? | | I definetly believe they are, but at first I was alittle skeptical with all the trades they made around draft time. All I know is Jarret jack is a great player and am glad to see him doing well. Also I can't wait for Darius Miles to get back on the court. | |
| | Scott Brooks Coach of the Year | | The votes have been counted and the results are out. Do you think Scott Brooks deserves the coach of the year plum or somebody else? Like Scott Skiles of the Milwaukee Bucks or Nate Mcmillan and his depleted Portland Trailblazers. Your thoughts=) | |

| Let's talk about nicknames | | What are your views on nicknames? Some say they are to be given, and you can't really make up one for yourself. But, Basketball fans are aware by now that Shaquille O'Neil has around 7 dozen or so names that he made up for himself over the years. Check this out:1. Shaq: This nickname has been used so universally for so long that some people actually don't know that "Shaq" is short for his given name of Shaquille, which is Arabic for "Little Warrior."2. Superman: Shaq is obsessed with the Man of Steel. He has a Superman tattoo on his arm, a Superman logo on several of his cars, a logo etched onto a leather jacket, and he can often be seen wearing Superman t-shirts, necklaces, and other paraphernalia. He even starred in Steel, a crappy movie about a man who was himself a cheap Superman knockoff. The dude flat out wants to be Superman. Sure it's crazy, but are you gonna tell him "no"?3. Diesel: Also spoken as "Shaq Diesel." This nickname supposedly indicates that he has the power and endurance of a diesel engine. Or maybe it's because of the weird burning smell that follows him everywhere.4. Daddy: Also spoken as "Shaq Daddy" and "The Big Daddy." Although he's... | |
| | NBA 2010 New Kids on block make a playoff splash | | The NBA playoffs for 2010 will highlight some new and returning teams in the playoff hunt and of course maintain some some old vets in perhaps their last hurrahs.New teams to the playoff party include Kevin Durrent and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durrant has had an MVP like year with a 29pt average and along with Russell Westbrook has led the Thunder to a 5th seed under first year coach Scott Brooks. The Thunder will take the place of the Houston Rockets in this years playoffs who despite a late season push could not overcome the lost of Yao Ming and not having aan effective Tracy McGrady who was eventually traded away. Other playoff teams in the west will be the top seed Lakers, 2 seed Denver, improved 3 seed Dallas with the addition of Caron Bulter and Brendan Haywood. Also making the playoff push are the Utah Jazz at 4, Phoenix at 5, Oklahoma 6, San Antonio 7 and The Portland Trailblazers at 8th despite a slew of injuries to centers Greg Oden and Joel Prizbilla. Nate Mcmillen did a masterful job and should win coach of the year.In the east the new kids will be the Charlotte Bobcats who will make the big dance with their new owner the greatest player ever Michael Jordan.... | |

| nba season so far! | | Okay so as of right now most teams have played about 29 games each and I figure I go through the list of biggest surprises and team rankings up to this point.1. LA LAKERS
They were my number one pick at the beginning of the year to repeat and so far they haven't disappointed. They currently hold a 23-4 record and hold a strong control over the Western Conference. The new addition of Artest is working out well and all is right in the world of basketball since on paper they were the best team. 2. BOSTON CELTICS
I would like to send out my sincerest apologies to the Celtics who I gave little credit to at the beginning of the year. I figured with the aging talent on their team and the loss of Big Baby Davis that they would be plumeting to about 3 or 4 in the east. To my amazement they have held on to the top spot in the Eastern Conference and are looking good. This next few weeks will be interesting since Paul Pierce is going to be out after having minor knee surgery and it is infected causing him to miss some time. 3. ORLANDO MAGIC
I was very concerned with this team at the beginning of the year with a suspended Rashard Lewis and a brand new Vince Carter who seemed to...
| | Your top 5 NBA teams for 08-09' | | My top bet for the upcoming year is the defending champs Boston. Why? basically they have kept all thier pieces. They are a good organization and have a desciplined coach in Rivers. Next is of course LA Lakers, with Bynum back next year I expect them to be even more deadlier. #3 is Cleveland, at 4 is New Orleans and at the 5 spot is Portland (with the entry of Oden, Bayless & Batum they look really interesting). My list
1. Boston Celtics
2. LA Lakers
3. Cleveland Cavs
4. NO Hornets
5. Portland TrailblazersDropping out of the contender's list.
1. Phoenix Suns
2. Dallas Mavs
3. Detroit Pistons
4. Golden State Warriors
5. San Antonio SpursWhat's your take?
