What's going on with the Predators???
At the All-Star break, the Preds looked invincible. They looked like they were going to be the team to beat for the Stanley Cup. They were riding high, winning important games, winning close games. They were doing everything a Stanly Cup winning team should do.Lately, though...arghhhh! They have been blowing leads late, giving up stupid goals and doing a better job of protecting the opponents goal than their own. They acquired Forsberg and I thought they were going to get back in Cup form, but he hasn't made any difference at all. They still can't beat their way out of a wet paper bag.Am I alone in feeling like we are headed for another first round exit? Is it time to start worrying yet, or can they turn this thing around?
Predators acquire Forsberg
Well, after weeks of speculation and a few days rumors, the Preds finally complete the trade for Forsberg. They give up Scottie Upshaw, and prospect Ryan Parent and two draft picks to get him. He becomes a free agent at the end of the season. So, the question is, good deal or bad deal? Is this a blessing or a curse? Will Forsberg help the Preds win the Cup?Personally, I think this will be the final piece of the puzzle. It will make the Preds deeper, making three primo lines. I'm salivating over having Forsberg matched with Radulov. There shouldn't be any low scoring games any more.
How is Paul Kariya playing?
Hes one of my favourite hockey players but Ive yet to see him play seeing as I live closest to Pittsburgh and dont get Nashville games:( Update me would ya?
One of the most exciting sporting events I've ever been to.
My son has been bugging my wife and I for awhile now to take him to a Nashville Predators game. By dumb luck, we happened to get 3 tickets for the 2008 season home opener here in Nashville. We begrudgingly took him to the game. It was AWESOME. I have never been to a sporting event where people rallied behind their team with so much energy as I saw at this game. It was nothing short of spectacular. The game itself was a lot of fun to watch...and there was a bunch of really great interaction between the mascots, cheerleaders and various events they had during the breaks between periods. My wife, son and myself had an absolutely awesome time and are already looking forward to our next game. And to think, I almost hesitated. I don't know how many of you out there have professional hockey near where you live, but if you do, I strongly encourage you to go get some tickets and check it out. I truly think you'll find it's every bit as much fun as a baseball or football game...you might even enjoy it more!
Toronto Maple Leafs Winning Streak Snapped
The Nashville Predators snapped the Maple Leafs winning streak in a game Thursday night. The final score was 4-2. The leafs went an amazing 5-1 on their road trip. Hopefully the can keep the momentum when they suit up back at the ACC.
