myLot Discussions| How long have you been a fan? | | I have been a fan since the 1986 series. I was 10; I got to stay up late and watch the series with my grandfather (R.I.P). I've been a die hard fan ever since. | |
| | How's Your Sports Team Doing? | | My hapless baseball team has now won three games in a row. Last night the closing pitcher almost blew the game -- as oft happens lol. If he had blown it, the fans would have assassinated him, I am sure of it.Anyway, I am in a state of the proverbial "shock and awe." Three games, wow! I don't say who my team is because they are cursed enough already. How the heck is your team going?

| | Who is your favorite Twins player? | | As a Twins fan, I have not been 100% dedicated. I choose favorites in the playoffs when the Twins aren't in it. But i think the rock of the team deserves my vote... he is Johan Santana. Who is your Twins favorite? | |
| | Playoff chances | | How well do you think the twins will do this year? Do you think they will make it to the playoffs? If so do you believe they have a chance at the world series? | |
| | Walmart's Project Impact: A Move to Crush Competition | | Walmart loves to shock and awe. City-size stores, absurdly low prices ($8 jeans!) and everything from milk to Matchbox toys on its shelves. And with the recession forcing legions of stores into bankruptcy, the world's largest retailer now apparently wants to take out the remaining survivors. Thus, the company is in the beginning stages of a massive store and strategy remodeling effort, which it has dubbed Project Impact. One goal of Project Impact is cleaner, less cluttered stores that will improve the shopping experience. Another is friendlier customer service. A third: home in on categories where the competition can be killed. "They've got Kmart ready to take a standing eight-count next year," says retail consultant Burt Flickinger III, managing director for Strategic Resources Group and a veteran Walmart watcher. "Same with Rite Aid. They've knocked out four of the top five toy retailers, and are now going after the last one standing, Toys "R" Us. Project Impact will be the catalyst to wipe out a second round of national and regional retailers." (See 10 things to buy during the recession.)Though that's bad news for many smaller businesses that can't compete, Walmart... | |

I can't handle this!"The nurse says to Mr. Canton:"What's his problem"? Project Impact will be the catalyst to wipe out a second round of national and regional retailers." | | Finally after 25 years | | I live in Minnesota USA. Where in April we have the MInnesota Twins professional baseball team starting their season. Now during April here in Minnesota it can be 75 degrees one day then a blizzard and near zero another day. When I first moved to Minnesota in 1975 I attended many baseball and football games at the Met Stadium. Then they built a "DOME". I have been to just a few baseball games and a few football games. Now baseball isn't baseball played under a roof. I went to a game once and sat through 11 innings of great ball albiet under a dome. Now the shocker was as I exited the building there was a torrentail downpour. Sitting in a dome you have no feel for the outside world. Kind of like a casino. You have no idea of the weather, or maybe even if it's light or dark outside. You lose all sense for the outer world. Anyhow they have finally broken ground for a new open stadium here in Minnesota for the Twins Baseball Team. Not even a retractable roof. But one thing thats added is heated seats and stadium floor/grass for those cold snowy April days. I HATE DOMES!! Do you also hate domes? Have you ever been to a normal outdoor sporting event inside of a domed structure?
