2007-04-09 Toronto Raptors at Minnesota Timberwolves
This is a team that is not as bad as their record shows. The Raptors are chasing second place (I personally don't think they will make it because they have 2 teams to catch and 1.5 games back). The Raptors NEED to hang on to third if they can though. Ideally, they will face the Wizards in Round 1. I think if that happens, they can go all the way to the NBA finals with that confidence boost before losing to Phoenix or Dallas.
antione walker trade good or bad??
What's everybody think about the trade between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat where the Heat sent fowards Antione Walker and Wayne Simien along with center Michael Doleac and a future first round pick to the Timberwolves for Ricky Davis and Mark Blount. Is this a good or bad move by the Timberwolves to start replacing Kevin Garnett and who do you think got the better of the trade?
The New York Knicks wins it's biggest game after more than 13 years!
After a series of really bad seasons, the New York Knicks seems to head to better days this season. As of this moment, the Knicks holds a 14-20 record and is just a few steps away from making it to the Eastern Conference's top 8. It seems that Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni are really doing wonders for the Knicks already and nothing comes close and better than their recent 132-89 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Yes, the Knicks 43 point win over the Pacers was the largest winning margin they ever had for more than 13 years. The last time the Knicks won a game by at least 43 points was against the Toronto Raptors back in April 15, 1996, the Raptors first season in the NBA. David Lee is starting to ice himself as one of the premier big men in the NBA and he finished with 22 points and 16 rebounds in the win. Both Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari are also making their names this season and both finished well. Chandler finished with 23 points while Gallinari had 20. Al Harrington has also been a solid reliever for the Knicks and he finished with 15 points in just 17 minutes of action. The game was already over a few minutes after it started. The Knicks jumped to a 38-16 first...
NBA Team Rankings
1. Los Angeles Lakers The Lakers are the returning NBA champs and have brought back their major contributers from last season. They also have the addition of Ron Artest who is going to be a defensive presence that some feel the Lakers may still lack at times. Expect another NBA Finals appearance.2. Cleveland Cavaliers Lebron James still has the bitter taste in his mouth from losing the East Conference Finals last year and coming off an MVP season don't expect him to slow down. The addition of Shaq will pay off as you see them checking into the NBA Finals.3. San Antonio Spurs Surprised? You shouldn't be. The Spurs still have all the major parts to be and contend for a championship. You have Tim Duncan who know how to win along with Tony Parker who is still one of the premier point guards in the NBA. This team lives and dies with their ability to stay healthy. Outside of Phil Jackson, Gregg Papovich is probably the best coach in the NBA. Expect a WCF appearance and hanging with the Lakers for 6 or 7 games. 4. Boston Celtics While they aren't getting any younger, the big three can still win and they brought extra fire power this year. The addition of Rasheed Wallace...
Should Amare Stoudemire be traded for KG? What will the Phoenix suns do?
I'm hearing that the Phoenix Suns are thinking about trading Amare stoudemire to the Minnesota Timberwolves for KG (kevin Garnett) to the Phoenix Suns. I dont like that trade because the suns will be losing the best power forward/center in the league. KG is good but i dont think he would fit with the Suns. Tell me what u think. Do you agree or disagree with the trade?
McHale, Wittman to return to Wolves
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- They wore bags on their heads and carried signs that read, "Fire McHale!"The Minnesota Timberwolves fans who want Kevin McHale out are becoming more and more vocal, and some turned out to express their displeasure at the season finale. But McHale isn't going anywhere.McHale said Thursday he will return as vice president of basketball operations next season and plans on bringing star Kevin Garnett and coach Randy Wittman back with him."I don't want to walk away with the team in this state," said McHale, who said this year's team resembled the "dysfunctional" squad he inherited when he was named vice president in 1995.In a season-ending news conference, McHale addressed a long, frustrating year in which his Wolves finished 32-50 and missed the playoffs for the third straight season."It was a bad season. There's no other way you can say it," McHale said. "It was a bad year and I did a bad job. That's the way it is."Many fans have become frustrated with McHale for not surrounding Garnett with a more competitive team. It's been a rapid fall from grace for the Hibbing native and former University of Minnesota star, who owner Glen Taylor...
Nba Rumors: Twolves not for sale
Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said this week that his wayward team is not for sale. But at least two of his 14 limited partners have expressed an interest in cashing out. That's fine with Taylor, who doesn't believe he would have a problem replacing them. He has a substantial California investor in waiting.
It's going to be a very busy offseason for 2010
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer, and Joe Johnson, those are just few of the names that might be appearing in the 2010 NBA free agency. Their current teams might do their very best to keep them and some hopeful teams for sure will be after them. Some of the teams that are on the heels of these stars are the New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, and Utah Jazz for sure are going to either re-sign their current stars or either go for another one to compensate the loss. A lot of rumors are going on for a possible James-Wade, James-Bosh, or Wade-Bosh team-ups which sound scary for the remaining 29 teams. Because of such names in the market, other teams are rumored to be making some serious adjustments in their rosters so to also get the most out of the deals. Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, has been quoted saying that they are interested in going after LeBron, even at the expense of giving up a lot of their firepower. Does this mean Cuban would let Dirk Nowitzki go and the Dallas will see the end of the Nowitzki era? Or is this a possible LeBron James-Dirk...

I hate when athletes make demands!
I recently heard on the radio on my way to work last night that the detroit pistons traded Chauncey Billups and Antonio Mcdyess to the denver nugets for Allen Iverson. Then I read on espn.com that Mcdyess has no interest in playing for any other team accept the Pistons. He's hoping that the nuggets will by out his contract and release him with hopes of returning back to detroit. I'm sick of pro athletes making demands and telling teams what they want. I think these team owners that give into these demands are idiots! I remember when Keith Van Horn came out of college, and he said he didn't want the 76ers to draft him. That's not his choice. Steve Francis did the same thing. When he was drafted by the Vancuver Grizzlies, he forced them to trade him to the Houston Rockets cause he didn't want to play for them. How Do you determine what team you want to play for when you're a rookie? No matter how good you are in college, and no matter how high in the draft you're selected, no athlete has the right to tell certain teams not to draft them. Especially when they haven't even proven themselves at the pro level yet. Even then, every athlete needs to keep their mouth shut and play. These...
