2007-03-07 Toronto Raptors vs. Memphis Grizzlies
This is the perfect game for the Raptors to break out of their recent slump. They have lost 3 straight, but are playing a team that is 15-46 and has only won 4 games all year on the road. The Raptors on the other hand, have won more than 2/3 of their games at home and are overdue for a win.I am hoping that this game will break them out of the rut they are in so they can make up some ground on the Wizards and Caveliers and distance themselves from New Jersey a little bit more, because if the Raptors have truly fallen back down to earth, the Nets are only a hot streak away from taking the division.
Philadelphia 76ers ends 12 game losing skid. Big game for Allen Iverson
It's just great to know that Allen Iverson have finally won a game back in 76ers uniform. Iverson scored 20 points in 7/10 shooting from the field and dished out 4 assists to help the Philadelphia 76ers end a 12 game losing skid with a convincing 117-101 win over the Golden State Warriors. Just a few games back after being waived by the Memphis Grizzlies, Iverson could still be out of his top shape and might be back to his old usual form (or at least close to it). As a basketball fan growing up watching a lot of Allen Iverson during his glory days with the 76ers, I just can't help but root for AI and the 76ers once again despite the poor early showing. The 76ers started 5-6 before the 12 straight defeats which sent them down 5-8 before the win. It might be tough to climb back up the standings but knowing who AI (Iverson) is a few seasons back, I'm just hopeful that the 76ers can still turn the season around. Philadelphia's another AI (Andre Iguodala) has been showing a lot of promise as well as Thaddeus Young who by the way top billed the 76ers with 26 points and 14 rebounds in the win. Iverson could provide the 76ers some identity again while...
Kobe bryant set another history
who see the game?? kobe bryant score 60 points win over the memphis grizzlies. he made 3 consecutive games with 50+ points. he made a history for it. he is now joining michael jordan and elgin baylor of tha ranking in making a 3 consecutive 50+ point game. the lakers will play tomorrow against the hornets, and i hope he will score again a 50+ points and can set another history to the nba. It is not yet sure though if he can play tomorrow because of what he did to jones from grizzlies. he elbow it in the fourth quarter. the nba is trying to preview thia and it will be announce tomorrow. i hope he will not get suspended for this! go for kobe and kobe for mvp

What do you think about these matchs? Who win today?
Allen Iverson's ranting. Justifiable or not?
Since he suited for the Detroit Pistons after being traded by the Denver Nuggets for Chauncey Billups, Allen Iverson was demoted to a 6th man from a starter. Before playing for the Pistons, Iversons started in 827 out of 832 games for the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets. Iverson said that he's been a starter all his life and coming off the bench is a little hard for him. Iverson said that Detroit's head coach Michael Curry promised to give him a starting role and it never materialized. Iverson played behind Pistons veteran Richard Hamilton and rising star Rodney Stuckey. Because of his ailing back, the Pistons decided not to re-sign Iverson. A star as he is, he got in trouble during the 2009 offseason as no team showed interest in signing him. The reason? Iverson's asking price is quite high. It's clear that he can still play and contribute well but he's no longer "The Answer" that he used to be. After a series of negotiations, the lowly and rebuilding Memphis Grizzlies signed Iverson for $3 million for one season. Knowing what he's done in Philadelphia and the reputation of the Nuggets and Pistons that he played for, Iverson is in an unfamiliar territory, playing for a...
Allen Iverson...!!!
Do you think that allen iverson will have a good chemistry in memphis? hmmm yes or no?
Lakers Got Pau Gasol
The Los Angeles Lakers got Pau Gasol in a trade. Grizzlies got Kwame Brown, Javaris Critenton and a first round draft pick in exchange. The whole NBA Community were shocked since there are no rumors about this trade before it happened. Fantasy people are looking for these new acquisition and predict that things would be the same for the players involved. Pau Gasol will still get his numbers plus a boost in assist since he will now have Kobe Bryant who can pass on while Kwame and Javaris will still play the same role for the Grizzlies and expecting Mike Miller, Rudy Gay and Juan Carlos Navarro to step up. Because of the trade, the Lakers becomes an instant NBA Finals contender for the west. Looks like a modern Celtics vs. Lakers matchup could be great deal. Can't wait this things to happen.
The NBA's Southwest Division is the toughest and closest
The Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, and the New Orleans Hornets. What do they all have in common? They've all got winning records in the 2009-2010 season so far and they all belong to the Western Conference's Southwest Division. For quite some time already, this has been the toughest division in the NBA. Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston are all playoffs contenders for a long time already while New Orleans has been one of the hottest teams since Chris Paul arrived. The Memphis Grizzlies however is the biggest surprise of the season. Dallas (29-15), San Antonio (25-18), Memphis (24-19), Houston (24-20), and New Orleans (24-20) are all playoffs caliber teams for this 2009-2010 season. Memphis and Houston has been the biggest success stories so far. The Grizzlies are banking on young stars Rudy Gay, OJ Mayo, and surprisingly, the surge of international center Marc Gasol. Veteran Zach Randolph on the other hand, after struggling with the New York Knicks, have regained some of his form and is one of the reasons why Memphis has been overachieving. Maybe a big thanks too for Allen Iverson's departure. Houston on the other hand is groomed to be one...
Allen Iverson is officially back with the Philadelphia 76ers
After departing with the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2006-07 season, Allen Iverson is back with his former team. The 34-year-old former All-Star and NBA MVP re-signed with the 76ers after a troubling offseason and stint with the Memphis Grizzlies. Iverson made his official Philadelphia 76ers return during the 76ers game against his former team the Denver Nuggets. Iverson is already far from being the Iverson of old with the 76ers. He just finished with 11 points in 4/11 FG shooting, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists in an 83-93 losing effort. The 76ers had a good start and managed to keep the Nuggets at bay before the powerhouse Western Conference squad outscored Philadelphia 30-18 in the fourth quarter. It could be some rust that Iverson should shrug off in the next few games that limited AI to at least perform at what many people expect him to be. During the 2006-07 season, Iverson played 15 games with the 76ers before he was shipped to Denver for Andre Miller and he averaged 31.2 points and 7.3 assists per game for the 76ers in that 15 game stint. With the limited manpower the 76ers have, Iverson could take over and probably take the lead in scoring once again. At...
Is Allen Iverson still worth the risk?
Basketball fans know how Allen Iverson's stint with the Detroit Pistons and the Memphis Grizzlies went. Despite his talent, teams never hesitate to say "no" to Iverson because of his attitude issues. Iverson is groomed to follow the footsteps of Latrell Sprewell who thinks too much about himself. Iverson is good, no doubt about it, but he's no longer "The Answer" of old. He's no longer capable of leading teams to the finals but he could help teams reach that far as a support or probably as the second or third option. Iverson's stint with the Denver Nuggets was not that bad but considering the talent that the Nuggets had, they should have made it past the first round with AI.Anyway, after a very brief stint with the Grizzlies, Iverson is out and is heading out the retirement door, too premature considering the steam that he still have left. So far, Iverson's former team, the Philadelphia 76ers, have expressed interest in getting him back. The 76ers are struggling so far and is still in search of an identity. Another AI, Andre Igoudala, is leading the 76ers lately but badly needs more support and better yet mature experience to guide them. Elton Brand has been a disappointment...
