| 2007-04-10 Toronto Blue Jays (Towers) vs. Kansas City Royals (Greinke) | | Towers is making his first start of the season, and the pressure he is going to be putting on himself is immense. Towers can ONLY pitch when under immense pressure, so I am hoping to see one of the best starts of his career. The Royals are usually an easy win compared to the rest of the American League anyway, so hopefully this one should be in the bag, the only concern is Greinke, he's apparently got some potential. The advantages? The Blue Jay bats and the fact that most of KCs pen will be unavailable for tonight. If the Jays can burn Greinke with 20-25 pitches per inning, they can likely win, even if Grienke leaves early with the lead. What are your thoughts? | |
| | 2007-04-09 Toronto Blue Jays (Burnett) vs. Kansas City Royals (Perez) | | It's the Blue Jays Home Opener, an AJ Burnett is hopefully looking to redeem himself from his last start which undoubtedly scared a lot of Blue Jays fans. Much of our hopes are riding on Burnett being almost Halladay good, and these are the Royals.Personally, I believe Burnett will step up and put together the best start we have seen from a Jays pitcher so far in 2007. I hope to see him pitching in the 7th inning and for BJ Ryan to show us that his blown save last week was a fluke. What are your thoughts? | |

| I-70 Series.....Are You Going? | | I have tickets to go see the Cardinals and Royals play on Saturday's game, May 23. I am so excited, I've wanted to go see them play against eachother ever since MLB started interleague play. I can't wait to go! I'm taking my 8 year old daughter and we are going to be sitting in the bleachers. It's going to be a blast!!! Is anyone else going to be attending the I-70 Series this weekend? | |
| | The Royals are not in last | | Can you believe it, not the worst record in baseball. Although the Yankees are handing it to us right now, but playing somewhat respectable is great. Any predictions on where they end the year. | |
|
| Royals lose a tough one in the 10th | | Man, I can't believe the Royals fought so hard to come all the way back only to blow it in the bottom of the 10th inning. I hate Brandon Inge right now! | |
| | Take me out ot the ball game | | Have you ever been to a professional sports game? My sister's husband took my youngest and me to a NY Mets game at Shea Stadium back in April 2002. It was there 40th anniversary year. They were giving away Mike Piazza bobble head dolls at the gate. I really enjoyed the game and to see it live is much better than on television. I must say that I do miss the replays, though. I tend to miss a lot of action as I like to look around at the crowd and the goings on. I also went to a Montreal Expos game in Canada back in 1972. That was the first time I'd ever been to a game and the first time I ever went out of the country. I was waiting for an autograph from the players and I was handed a cracked bat from Bob Stinson. He was a St. Louis Cardinals player. That was very exciting for me. Have you ever been to a pro sports game, and if so, how did you like it compared to watching on tv? | |
|
| projections for this year | | Do you think we could see a Royals/Cardinals series this fall? I would hope so....I think KC can be the sleeper, surprise team this year in the AL. I am have already predicted that the Cards repeat in the NL. I-70 series part 2? | |

| Orioles sign LHP Walker, re-sign LHP Parrish | | BALTIMORE (Ticker) - Jamie Walker apparently has cashed in on his career season. The Baltimore Orioles signed the former Detroit Tigers lefthander to a three-year contract on Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Baltimore Sun reported Thursday that the deal was worth $11.5 million.
Walker, 35, enjoyed an outstanding 2006 campaign for the American League champion Tigers, going 0-1 with a career-best 2.81 ERA in 56 relief appearances. The lefty specialist figures to bolster an Orioles bullpen which posted a 5.25 ERA last year, the second-worst mark in the majors. Walker has played six-plus seasons with Detroit and the Kansas City Royals, going 15-16 with a 3.95 ERA in 383 career games. The Orioles also re-signed John Parrish to a one-year contract, averting arbitration with the lefthander. Parrish missed the 2006 season after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery in July 2005. | |
