myLot Discussions | | golden state warriors | | the Golden State warriors took game 3 away from the dallas mavericks and it was not an ordinary win. the warriors blown out the mavericks 109-91 to take a 2-1 series lead. it seems the warriors are really for real, and making it for the first time in 13 years in playoffs is not enough, they will upset the nba's best regular season team. two things in history might happen in this series. the 1994 upset of the 8th seeded denver nuggets over the seattle super sonics or the big comeback of the number 1 seeded phoenix suns over the 8th seeded los angeles lakers in 1993. but win or lose, the warriors have already proven themselves. dallas is on for a scare now, they can't hardly win | |
| | dallas mavericks vs golden state warriors in the first round of the playoffs | | season series, golden state (3 wins), dallas mavericks (1 win). it seems so unfortunate for the 67-15 mavericks to face the only team they have a losing record in the forst round of the playoffs. heavily loaded with quality players led by jason richardson and baron davis, the golden state warriors might give the mavericks a good fight in the playoffs, or maybe an upset. but the number 1 seeded mavericks for sure will have something up in their sleeves for this match-up. dirk nowitzki, josh howard, jason terry, jerry stackhouse and the rest, it looks like the mavericks have the most balanced and deepest line-up in the league.will the mavericks finally win it this year? or will the warriors add something to their history this season by not just ending a 13 year playoff drought but also beating the number 1 seed and repeat history (1994 sonics-nuggets)? | |
| | | and the nba chaps. . . . | | Almost 40 games played this season and we have our own teams that we like to win the NBA championship. Let me share to you my top 5... BOSTON, for their defense and the way they share the ball. SAN ANTONIO, because of the way they play and they were the champs last year. PHOENIX, because they are starting to stand up again and play well, DETROIT, DDDEEETTTRRROOOIIITTT BBAASSKKEETTBBAALL!!! and GOLDEN STATE, an underdog would be nice right.. share your top 5 too.. basketball above all.. | |
| | NBA Playoff Time... who you excited to see? who will win it all? | | For me, I am most excited to see the Warriors!!!12 seasons of suffering, and us die-hard Warrior fans get no better feeling than to make the playoffs. I mean, I was at the Oracle Arena yesterday where approximately 4,000 of us Warrior fans packed an empty arena to watch the Warriors pull it out in Portland!! I think they can give Dallas a challenge; they were the best team in the league, but we swept the season series... I still like Phoenix to win it all. I love Steve Nash, and Amare is back in full effect... what about you guys? Who do you wanna see? Who do you think will win it all?? | |
| | Mavericks swept by Warriors | | the Golden State Warriors is the only team in the league that was able to sweep their season series against the mighty Mavericks. Though the mavs did not play nowitzki, stackhouse, howard and dampier, a win is still a win. especially for the warriors who still battle the clippers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the west. | |
| | Wednesday Night Mavericks, 10/31/07 | | If you have watched the game Wednesday night when the Dallas Mavericks visited the Cleveland Cavaliers, you should have noticed how the Mavs improved their defense, limiting LeBron James to 10 points on 2-of-11 field goal shooting (he made his first field goal almost halfway through the third quarter), 5 rebounds, and 5 turnovers. Some of those shots he took were even on drives to the hoop (where is arguably best shooting the ball from), missing them thanks to the Mavericks' tough defense in the paint, and in particular, DeSagana Diop and last year's MVP, Dirk Nowitzki. The turnovers were also thanks to the pressure defense on James, the Mavs even making him miss two from three-point range. Lastly, James was plagued by fouls in the game, rendering him less useful for the Cavaliers (he only played 14 minutes in the first half, way less than his regular play time). The game's final score was 92-74 in favor of the Mavericks. The Dallas Mavericks are still reeling from their loss last postseason (credits go to the Golden State Warriors), and the group (Nowitzki, especially, who took most of the blame; after all, he was the league MVP) took it upon themselves to improve themselves... | |
