| | Man arrested in attack on air marshal | | A Fort Myers man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly punching a U.S. air marshal on a flight from Washington to Fort Myers.
Andrew J. Kowalczyk was ordering Jack Daniels and Coke while in first class of the U.S. Airways flight that left from Reagan National Airport to Southwest Florida International Airport.
He then struck a passenger who was sitting in front of him, which happened to be a Federal Air Marshal, who thought it might have been accidental.
Unfortunately for Kowalczyk he was sitting next to another Federal Air Marshal and before hitting the other marshal leaned over to him and said “I don’t know who this guy in front of me thinks he is, but I’m going to whoop his arse,” Both men then told Kowalczyk they were federal air marshals and arrested him. He now faces up to 20 years and a $250,000 fine according to a report by FLORIDA TODAY news partner The News-Press of Fort Myers. | |
