Useless College Degree- Can I Get A Refund?
I spent 4 years and so much money (that it makes me sick) on an education at a great university and it means absolutely squat thanks to the economy and the current job market. GPA and the difficult courses I slaved over mean nothing compared to years of experience and having dependents and connections. Can I get a refund please? lol Too bad colleges cant give you a job along with your diploma. Oh well.

What is your thesis all about? Can you give me tips on how to handle a thesis?2. Did you do your thesis for your interest or for graduating?

Never too late to earn a college degree: A 94-year old woman earns her degree
I just read a news from Yahoo! that a 94 year old woman just earned her college degree. Hazel Soares earned a degree from Mills College, an Oakland liberal arts college for women. According to Soares, it took her a while to finish her college degree because she was busy. Mills had 6 children, 40 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Soares however isn't the oldest person to earn a college degree. In 2007, Nola Ochs graduated from college at the age of 95, coincidentally, also the same year Soares enrolled at Mills College. Before enrolling at Mills, Soares spent six years taking courses at Chabot College at Hayward before earning her associate's degree at the age of 85.Soares is such an inspiration. It shows that learning should never stop and one should have the knack to learn. It really doesn't mean that one has to enroll in different colleges but one should make it a part of life to earn. What's happening these days is that people think that once they're done with school and have already earned a degree, it's all done for them. We should strive to get better and there is no way to get better than to learn constantly. Soares is a proof and inspiration that we should never...
Do most young people stay and work after college or go abroad?
A lot of young people after they finish college do abroad to live. Is this common in your country? They go on a trip to another country and decide to stay. Has this happened in your family?
Does Scholarships really help with College Education?
I am going back to college for my Nursing Degree and I am interested in applying for Scholarships I have even started a packet, my friends have received scholarships as well, my question is even with all of the changes in the economy is there still the need to take out Student Loans, combined with the Scholarships or does it pay to have a great budget??? I know my Aunt lives off of her Financial Aid and she is struggling, but from my past experience I had such a hard time working and trying to go to school when my mother was sick as well....It is tough all the way around.....What are ways you can save, stretch your scholarships without tapping into loan funds???And obtaining more debt...I know that you also have to make some sacrifice's in life to succeed...What have you done in your College Education to make you financially success and able to balance Education and Finances??? Without the stress and overload....

Back to college in your forties?
Have you considered it? Going back to school in my forties has been an interesting experience to say the least. Since I am older and more settled, learning comes a little easier as I am focused and my own need to excel will not allow me to slack off and fall off the Dean's list. It's also really cool when you talk to people and are able to say you are maintaining a 4.0 GPA!There have been some considerations though. I am learning to leave behind my construction superintendent demeanor as I step into the classroom and assume the role of a scholar. Since I am studying in the medical field, yes I am a med student, I am required to wear scrubs and white tennis shoes to school. Big change from the jeans and steel toe boots I am used to. Sometimes I get self conscious and feel like I am wearing pajamas! So how about you? Have you considered back to school at this stage of life?
