Clemson University Basketball.
No other undefeated teams out there. Is Clemson a legitimate top 10 team or do they still deserve to be down in the bottom half of the top 20.
Apples & Onions a preventive against stress and cold
Apples and onions may protect athletes from cold Quercetin, the compound most commonly associated with onions and apples, grapes, tea and red wine, may boost the immune system and protect agains flu, according to results of a study with mice. In the first controlled experimental study to show a benefit of short-term quercetin feedings on susceptibility to respiratory infection following exercise stress, researchers from the University of South Carolina and Clemson University reported the consumption of foods like onion rich in this flavonoid could help reduce illnesses in people who have carrried out extensivve execies. The experts in their findingg published in the American Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, said if the results can be reproduced in humans, the cheap and easily assessable flavonoid could be helpful in endurance athletes, soldiers and others undergoingg difficult training regimens, as well as poeple under psychological stress. What is your opinion about the above discussion, do you have any other information about spicies?
What Color
An impoverished graduate student at Clemson University in South Carolina, I was excited when my father informed me that he had bought me a car. Hardly able to contain my enthusiasm, I asked Dad the typical questions:"what kind is it? Does it hace a stick shift? Does it hace a tape deck?""It's a 1982 Toyota," he replied. "It's a four speed, and, yes,it has a tape deck." Pleased, I asked what color it was. "Well," he said uncomfortably,"which part?"Of course, it's a joke.:) What color of the car do you like best? Why?:)
Jamestown: Birthplace of America's Distinctive, Secular Ideal
Jamestown: Birthplace of America's Distinctive, Secular Ideal By Eric Daniels On May 14, America will commemorate the four-hundredth anniversary of the settlement of Jamestown, Virginia. The occasion provides us with an opportunity to understand and celebrate the distinctive, secular ideal underlying America's freedom and prosperity. Although many Americans recognize that Jamestown was the first permanent English colony in North America (predating the Pilgrims and Puritans of Massachusetts by over a decade), too many mistakenly view the religious ethos of the New England colonies as the impetus for America's flourishing. But the religious colonists, whose moral outlook stands opposed to our ideals of intellectual and political liberty, merely transplanted Old World ideas to new soil. The New World that promised opportunity and progress had begun in Jamestown, where the defining spirit of American individualism was born. The Jamestown settlement project began, not as a Puritan escape to pursue and enforce a dogmatic faith, but with a group of profit-seeking investors in London pooling capital in a joint-stock company, a forerunner of our modern corporations. Members of the...
major change advice pleaaase!
I'm currently a Ceramics and Materials Engineering major at Clemson University in my sophmore year. Ever since I've started college, I've had my doubts about the engineering program. I always have these major change panic attacks where i feel like i need to change my major. First it was psychology, then I wanted to change to Architecture, and i think Biochemistry. My original plan was to get into the new bioengineering program, but I've been really set back by having to retake a lot of my math and physics classes. I know that I should be happy in my major, and so far I haven't really been too happy with my performance or with the actual classes themselves. I went to a counselor in the career center here and she suggest that I check out the graphic communications major to see if i liked it. We're nearing the end of the year here and i'm just now checking it out. I emailed one of the professors to try and meet up and talk about the program. Just wondering if any of you have any good advice on weather it sounds like i should switch or to explore other options. Changing won't put me too far back in my coursework. Maybe a semester or two. I just feel like i might be unhappy for the...
Becareful dont abuse love (true Story) not me though lol
You got to love this guy... This is a true story about a recent wedding that took place at Clemson University. It was in the local newspaper and even Jay Leno mentioned it. It was a huge wedding with about 300 guests. After the wedding, at the reception, the groom got up on stage with a microphone to talk to the crowd. He said he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding. He especially wanted to thank the bride's and his family and to thank his new father-in-law for providing such a lavish reception. As a token of his deep appreciation he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift just from him. So taped to the bottom of everyone's chair, including the wedding party was an envelope. He said this was his gift to everyone, and asked them to open their envelope. Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 glossy of his bride having sex with the best man. The groom had gotten suspicious of them weeks earlier and had hired a private detective to tail them. After just standing there, just watching the guests' reactions for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said, "F--- you!" Then he...
Rudolph Anderson
Major Rudolph Anderson, Jr. (September 15, 1927 – October 27, 1962) was a pilot and officer in the United States Air Force, and the first recipient of the Air Force Cross. Anderson was born in Greenville, South Carolina and graduated from Clemson University in 1948.On October 14, flying a U-2 reconnaissance airplane of the Strategic Air Command's 4080th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing from Laughlin Air Force Base (Del Rio, Texas). Major Anderson returned from a high-altitude reconnaissance flight over Cuba with pictures of ballistic missile sites and nuclear storage facilities under construction. These pictures triggered the Cuban Missile Crisis. All the U-2 reconnaissance flights above Cuba close before and during the Cuban Missile Crisis, were made by Major Anderson and Major Richard S. Heyser. On one of these missions, on October 27, Major Anderson was shot down by a Soviet-supplied SA-2 Guideline surface-to-air missile (SAM Site). He was the only direct human casualty of the conflict.
