The term he used isn't the best term but the statement doesn't bother me. I guess I just consider the source. | | How far will the Flames go this year? | | How far will they go? Do you think they can keep it together and represent the West for the Cup? The Flames was the first team I liked when I started watching hockey. I would like to see a Canadian team bring the cup back. And I hope it is Calgary . But is this the year?I don't know. | Moving on to Round 2 | | After last night's double overtime victory against the Calgary Flames, the Red Wings are moving on the Round 2. It is their first trip to the second round since 2004, where they were eliminated by the Flames. Any preferences for the Red Wing's second round opponent? Based on the regular season records, Dallas would have to be the preferred opponent. 3-0-1 with the overtime loss being the game that the Wings blew a 3-0 lead in the third. It'll all be decided tonight in the Vancouver/Dallas Game 7.Great game by the Wings...you could tell that they wanted to finish it and not rely on their home ice dominance to come through again in Game 7. Great game by Kipper as well...without him, the game would have been a blowout. The Flames didn't challenge Hasek much with just 21 shots on goal in 4+ periods of play. | |
| | Wings vs Flames: Game 5 suspension list | | Anyone who watched the third period during Game 5 of the Detroit/Calgary series, regardless of the team they supported, had to have been disgusted with Calgary.After two blatant slashes, Jamie McLennan took his stick and swung it like an axe into the midsection of Franzen. He was only in the game for maybe a dozen seconds. He was assessed 2 for slashing, 5 for intent to injure, and a game misconduct. I hope the NHL comes down on him with fury and gives him the type of suspension that kind of an act deserves. More disturbing was that this guy was CONGRATULATED as he left the ice by some of his team, and the coach didn't seem to show any surprise that it had happened. Earlier in the game, Lebda attempted a hipcheck on Langkow. Langkow somehow managed to lay there looking injured after play died down. Of course, that was after he used one arm to grab Lebda by the helmet, and the other arm to deliver a cheap uppercut. I doubt the NHL is going to give any discipline for this one. It's a shame. Then to cap off the game, you have Jerome Iginla. He hooked one of the Wings, and while skating alongside he threw what was obviously a butt-end into the midsection, and followed it... | |

| Round 1: Red Wings vs Flames | | The Red Wings have been dominating the Flames over the first two games of this series. Game 1 wasn't even close with the Wings taking a 4-0 lead and cruising to a 4-1 victory. It was close for awhile in Game 2 after the Flames scored their only goal of the game to make it 2-1 until Filppula's goal in the third put the game away for the Wings. It was the first time in what feels like ages that the Wings have gone up 2-0 in a playoff series. It feels nice! Lets hope that they can continue their physical play and offensive play in Calgary. It looks like Todd Bertuzzi is ready to play tonight. It should be a great game! GO WINGS! | |

| 2006-07 Season | | Well, it's quite a season we are having. What do you think are the chances of a Cup? Who is your favorite player.I think we have a better than average chance this year if Vokoun can stay healthy from here out. Mason did a good job, but we were playing some of the bottom teams. Now we have a more challenging schedule and need Vokoun.I love watching Radalov (sp?) play. He's quite exciting. He seems to make things happen.I'd have to say, though, Sullivan is my favorite. He has been since he came over from the Blackhawks. He just finds ways to win. He's been the biggest boost to the team. I'll say, though, Timmonen and Zidlicky would rank up there for me as well. I just love seeing those three names on a score. I can't count how many goals can be attributed the all three of them. They just make goals happen when all three are on the ice together. | |

| | calling all hockey fans | | Well I have to say that the Calgary Flames are doing better than I expected them to this year. Do you follow hockey at all? Who is the team that you cheer for? Why do you like that team? Do you like to play hockey, or just watch? Do you know the rules of the game? I like watching the games but I really don't know much about the game other than the fact that there are three periods and that you need to get the puck into the other teams net. I know that makes me sound a little stupid but it can't be helped. Can anyone five me a brief run down of the game? I'l love to learn a little more so that I am able to have a better understanding of what I am watching. Happy mylotting. | |
