| | myLot Discussions | | Divorce in midlife hurts women's heart health | | Divorce apparently harms the cardiovascular health of women, but men's hearts appear to escape a split-up unscathed, a new study shows. The ill effects are largely due to the economic consequences, as well as the emotional distress, of divorce for women, conclude Dr. Zhenmei Zhang of Bowling Green State University in Ohio and Dr. Mark D. Hayward at the University of Texas at Austin.Zhang and Hayward also found that while divorce didn't appear to affect men's cardiovascular health, divorced, widowed and remarried men were all more likely to die sooner of non-heart-related causes than men who had stayed married to the same person. | |
| | My Grandparents are my biggest Inspiration! | | Hi! My grandparents are all gone now, but I got to tell you about them anyways!
I would love to hear how your Grandparents inspired you too?
What do you remember about them the most?My Grandma and Grandpa were the most jolliest people you would ever get to meet!! They were jolly in their voice, spirit and their body type!
Grandma took care of the house and Grandpa! She would get up every morning and fix my Grandpa elaborate meals! Eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, fried potatoes and of course home made bread! Oh every meal was elaborate, Yes they had money and they always had so much food, enough to feed several people a day!
Thats how Grandma planned it, they were good people, they would have at least 10 to 20 people drop in on them everyday! I know we were there as much as we could be!
Grandpa would set down at the table with his Bible and read and pray at ever meal! Then he would eat, and he could eat, he wasn't huge he was an average plump man. He loved his cheeses, one day he got out all the cheese that he owned and I tryed every last one of them, the Linburger was the worst, but my Grandpa loved it, geesh you could barely stand the smell lot a lone the taste! LOL!!...

| | Wait till we have finished! | | I took four of my five children out last Sunday as it was a lovely sunny day.
We decided to go for picnic in our local park then we were going to play crazy golf and finish off by letting my children play in the swing park.
All was going well my son had brought his football along so we could have a kick about as well.
We went round to the crazy golf and the kids run off in front to check that it was open and to see how much it was.
They walked into the place and there was a man who was just walking back to the bowling green he must have heard my children saying they were off to play crazy golf he looked at them and said "Wait till we have finished"
We decided to ignore him as it had nothing to do with him whether we could play or not. He was just one of the players.
We would not interfere with the bowls as there was another pitch between the golf and where they were playing.
The man at the counter was happy to let us play so we went ahead and had a good time anyway.
It just annoyed me that this person thought he could tell us what to do especially as we were in a public place.
Do you get annoyed when someone tries to tell you what to do when it has nothing to do with...
| | How do u feel about ur partner | | how do u feel about ur friends bf gf or family? DO these people embarrass u? Do they care what they do to u no matter if they know what they r doing is wrong? Its time for people to step out and take charge of their emotional turmoil they find themselves in. Some people find ways to hurt other cuz of the way they feel and the way they have been treated. These people who do that r looking for love in places that seem to not have love and all they find is turmoil and violence. What do u think of that i was told that one time by a pastor in bowling green missouri. He said that these people do what they do so that their lives look better then those who dont do anything to them. God shows people how to do things and they decide to do the opposite so the next time they decide to do wrong its not gods fault its ur own. Hows that for a discussion but i bet i will only get 1 person to answer | |
| | Ending The Monuments to Me Program | | To some in Washington your money is only useful when it is to build something with their name on it, but that is about to change. Thankfully Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX), offered an amendment that would prohibit the use of federal funds for a “Monument to Me” for any Member of Congress, and yes it did pass. Here are some of the great monuments ericted to those fine Congressmen and Senators;Robert C. Byrd Center for Hospitality and Tourism

| | if you-all have been wondering where that i have been today.... | | hello all of my good friend's here at Mylot!if you-all have been wondering where that i have been today, well my family and i went to Beach Bend Park, located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. whoo hoo! my ten year old son received a Family Pass at the elementary school where he attends, and with that pass, it knocked of $20.00 off of our ticket price going through the gate today! they have a small amusement park with a splash park attached to it as well. all for the price of one to get in, and that is not a bad deal at all, usually the amusement park and the splash park are two seperate things. and of course right off of the bat today, when we got to the park, we rode the bob sleds, and i amost lost my lunch! lmao lol i just cannot take any of the rides anymore at an amusement park. you will find me sitting out on the bench. next! but anyways, we had a beautiful day today at the park and the splash park. tired tonight and i do have to say that i blew my diet today, i had to have a soft serve ice cream cone at the park today! have a beautiful evening and it is good to be back home. | |
