myLot Discussions| Baltimore Orioles | | Who would you rather see in the lineup, Nick Markakis, or Jay Gibbons?
| | O's Lineup on Opening day! | | The lineup could change with any trades that may occur or injuries in spring training. But I like this lineup and yes Tejada batting 4th. I flipped him back and forth between 2, 4 and 6th but 4th protects Markakis and Jones giving them either better pitches or him better pitches. With him hitting for singles and doubles that makes them either hardier to pitch to. Another thing that could change is who starts for the Devil Rays on opening day. I am guessing there going to go with Jeff Niemann but that depends on what David Price and Matt Garza does in spring training. With Price being the lone lefty. If he starts I see Felix Pie getting the start at Dh over Luke Scott. 1. Brian Roberts
2. Nolan Reimold
3. Nick Markakis
4. Miguel Tejada
5. Adam Jones
6. Matt Weiters
7. Garrett Atkins
8. Luke Scott
9. Cesar IzturisStarting Rotation:
1. Kevin Millwood Opening day starter away
2. Jeremy Guthrie
3. Brad Bergesen
4. Brian Matusz Opening day start at home
5. Chris TillmanI would like to see another veteran starter to allow Tillman to start in triple a and this again depends on what he does in spring training.Lets go Opening day.
| | Erik Bedard traded?? What about Roberts. . . gone too? | | what do you think will happen to erik bedard and brian roberts before the start of the 2008 season? do you mylotters think they'll both be moved and if so where to. who do you think will be moved first and have you heard of any other moves the orioles will be or have thought about making prior to the start of spring training here in a couple of weeks? | |
| | Girardi turns down Orioles. | | By turning down the Baltimore Orioles today, Joe Girardi, last years National League manager of the Year, is keeping the possibility open that he will replace Joe Torre as manager of the New York Yankees, should Yankee Owner George Steinbrenner deem that a change is necessary. There are several jobs that may be more lucritive then the Orioles position, but would he choose to wait on the possibility of future offers without having some kind of understanding concerning his future options with the team he is currently employed with. It seems that Don Mattingly would have much more of an oppurtunity to receive the promotion as Torre's replacement, but Girardi's resume is impressive already.I'm curious to see how it will play out. way

| | Orioles deal for Erik Bedard almost done | | accoring to the baltimore orioles they are in the works of finalizing a trade with the seattle mariners for center fielder adam jones for baltimore orioles pitcher erik bedard. not sure how many other players were going to be headed to balitmore but i can assure you its not a straight up trade between the two players.i have a link if you would like me to send it to you but im not sure if that is against mylot policy. | |
| | | Final REgular season game scheduled at Yankee Stadium in 2008 | | http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-yankeesschedule&prov=ap&type=lgnsThe house that Ruth Built, will be no more at the end of next year. The yankees will be moving into a new stadium, and the ticket prices are reflecting that it is the final regular game there. While nnormal prices are 100, the increase is 150% to 250 dollars for the game...The game to be played is against the Baltimore Orioles, now while I'm no Oriole fan, I have to say I'm even less of a fan for the Yankees, so I hope that we knock every hit out of the park...GO O's.>New York will open at home against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, March 31. The 79th major league All-Star game will be played at Yankee Stadium on July 15. And if New York misses the playoffs, the final series in the beloved ballpark would be Sept. 19-21 against Baltimore. | |
| | Baseball stadiums: Who's got the best??? | | There are many baseball stadiums old, present, and future. I've only had the chance to visit Oriole park at Camden yards (home of the Baltimore Orioles). I hear that one ranks up there with the must sees. Now that I have moved to Florida Tampa Bay's Tropicana field is the closest to us. I hear that stadium is at the bottom of the list. I'm wondering which baseball stadiums out there are your favorite and a must see? By the way, if you've never been to Camden Yards in Baltimore it's definitely one to see. | |
| | Kevin Millar Going Back To Boston?? | | According to the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Sun, Orioles utilityman, Kevin Millar is headed back to Boston to throw out the cermonial first pitch for the 2007 World Series. Are O's fans outraged or have they come to reason that their millar's heart is in Boston and his body is in Baltimore. No matter who that guy plays for he will always respect everybody and play hard for whatever team he plays on. | |
