What should I do about my college situation?
I just finished up my freshman year at Ball State University. I had a VERY hard time adjusting and hated almost every minute of it. I told my parents that I did not want to go back, and with great hesitation, they told me I could move back home and attend school at IU in Kokomo, a thirty minute drive from my house. They told me to highly weigh my pros and cons of each school. My question is should I attend IUK or Ball State? A lot of people say that they HATED their first year of college too and it got much better after that. However, I am afraid that it won't. But at the same time, I'm afraid to move back home and regret my decision. What should I do?
students want to carry concealed weapons at school....?
i heard that head line on the news this morning. what? i had to stop and listen. apparently students at ball state university in indiana would like to have the right to have a gun on the school premises. i dont think this is such a good idea. i am totally for our right to bare arms, but i dont think we need to extend it in the schools. whats next? high school kids? the students trying to push this are saying that they want to be ready if there is a school shooting. thats what the stinking police are for. they say that the school police cant be everywhere, but i think that if they are having such a trouble with shootings or things like that then they need to have more cops around. kids in school (even if its college) are just kids at school. i dont think the a school that has been labeled the biggest party school needs to also allow the kids to carry guns to class. what do you think?
Great-great-grandmother, 96, does laps at Indy
She proved that age does not matter when it comes to driving skills!>>>The ride from the Indy Racing Experience was a Christmas gift from Pittenger's children. Pittenger, who is retired from Ball State University as assistant director of personnel services, began attending the Indianapolis 500 in 1965.>>>"I like the excitement, the speed, the noise," she said. "I'm one of the few that like the noise.">>>After trading her black slacks and checkered-flag blouse for a red-and-white driver's suit and black racing shoes, Pittenger was helped into the second seat of the 650-horsepower race car.She is one brave and skillful lady! Obama admits comments weren't well-phrased
He put his foot in his mouth AGAIN!!![em]lol[/em] I know this one made LOTS of people mad!!!Under fire for comments at a fundraiser, Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., speaks during a town hall meeting at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., on Saturday. After a full-throated response to criticism that he is condescending, Democrat Barack Obama on Saturday conceded that that comments he made about bitter working class voters who "cling to guns or religion" were ill chosen."I didn't say it as well as I should have," he said. As Obama tried to quell the furor, presidential rival Hillary Rodham Clinton hit him with one of her lengthiest and most pointed criticisms to date. For More: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24082427

2009-10 College Football Preseason Predictions!
As the 2009-10 College Football season approaches, It is safe to say that there will still not be a playoffs this year or for years to come. But, that does not take away the excitement, passion, and the tradition of rival games away from the sport itself. All the controversy behind the BCS computer ranking system, the polls, and Conference Presidents, Chancellors, and Commissioners is the reason why there will never be a playoff, and it is not OK! One main reason that there will be no playoffs is because several conferences had bowl deals before the BCS was created in 1998, which tells me that most schools will prefer to have a bowl game at the end of the year regardless on how good or bad thier season may have been, as long as they win 6 games. The problem is the elite conferences may get thier 3rd through 6th place teams in a bowl game from automatic bids over a Non BCS conference 1st and 2nd place team. What's really funny is the Non BCS conferences schools have to be good over a span of 4 years before they can be considered to play in a BCS Bowl game, schools like Utah and Boise State. That's what I call friendship football at it's finest, but even I can't deny that there are...
My Rat On Crack
Fanfare for the Common Man: My Rat on Crack By Dan Brown I have this rat on crack. Or… Take a wind-up toy and crank it as far as it’ll go. Then crank it some more. You crank this thing until you think it’s going to break. Then you set it down and press the button. And off it goes, skipping like a flat stone across a shallow pond. Or… Take your standard two-year-old. Hype her up on all the chocolate you can get your hands on. Maybe throw in a couple Cokes or better yet, Mountain Dew. Then shake her all over and throw her up in the air until she’s just about to puke. Then give her back to her mother and watch the fun and fireworks. That’s my dog. My Chihuahua. My Rat on Crack. This dog runs like she has someplace to go and she needed to get there yesterday. She barks at air. She is a canine waste bi-product machine. My dog is actually my daughter’s dog, a gift from her boyfriend when she was a freshman in college. You know how the stunt works. Boyfriend wants to score points and can’t afford flowers so he goes out and drops a couple hundred bucks on a puppy instead. He presents it to my daughter at her dorm room and she squeals all happy, then calls me up...
